Ned is one of the founding members of Liberty Lighting and has worked extensively as both a Lighting Director and Gaffer for over 25 years.

In 2007 Ned was the Gaffer/LD for HBO's "Cathouse - The Musical", a large scale staged production filmed for the third season of HBO's "Cathouse" TV series. Although Ned has gaffed numerous commercials, industrials and corporate projects, his passion is with documentaries. In 2000 he traveled to Europe, gaffing the Academy Award winning "Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport" with DP Don Lenzer.

Ned's extensive documentary work includes numerous episodes for PBS television series like "The American Experience", "Great Performances" and "American Masters." He has been Gaffer and Lighting Director on countless productions including "Alexander Hamilton" (2007), "Joan of Arc" (2005), "Benjamin Franklin" (2002), Woody Allen's "Wild Man Blues" (1997) and "G String Divas" (2000)

Ned lives with his wife Kerry and daughter Dyanna in Brooklyn, New York.

John joined Liberty Lighting in 1994 and works as both Gaffer and Lighting Director.

John recently worked as Gaffer on the PBS series “Untitled Perry Miller Adato Project (2012) and “
Faces of America with Henry Louis Gates Jr.” (2010/2011) along with his partner Ned Hallick. In 2009, John gaffed the Billy Crystal Host Wraps for “Make “em Laugh: The Funny Business of America” working under his partner and Lighting Designer, Ned Hallick.

In 2006, John was the gaffer for the 8 episode series "
After Hours with Daniel Boulud" produced by Automatic Productions for MOJO-INHD TV and the New York segment of "Dinosaurs Alive!" an Imax 3-D film shot at the Musuem of Natural History. He was the Gaffer (NY) for the documentary feature film "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls" directed by Kenneth Bowser. In 2004 John gaffed Bravo's Reality show "Things I Hate About You" and the reality show produced by Stone Stanley Entertainment called "Ivana Young Man" starring Ivana Trump.

Since 1998 he has worked with both ABC News and on numerous Barbara Walters Specials as Gaffer. He has worked extensively with single and multi-camera shoots on a wide variety of formats including HD, Beta, Film, DV and stills. John has gaffed numerous industrials, commercials, documentaries, and reality shows with set-ups ranging from elegant talking heads to large scale multi-stage projects.

John attended
The Banff Centre of The Arts (1984-1986); Graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology (1979-1984) with a BFA in Fine Arts Photography. Before beginning his career in film he worked as a fine artist and was an art preparator (1986-1991) for the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York City.

John lives in Piermont, New York on the Hudson River with his wife filmmaker
Deborah Kampmeier and daughter Sophia and two chihuahuas, Bobo and Skyler and cats Shakti and Chocolate.
